I am so excited to announce that Color Me Culturally Confident is teaming up with the Children’s Culinary Institute to take your families on a virtual trip to Iceland for the Holidays! Chef Arlena will be joining us all the way from Germany! We will bake some yummy laufabroad, while diving into discussions about the culture and Icelandic holiday stories too!
About The Children’s Culinary Institute
The Children’s Culinary Institute is creating a network of teachers and cooking enthusiasts to build life skills from the kitchen. Chef Arlena puts on some really neat events, and for all the horrors of a global pandemic, the opportunity to take advantage of the necessity fo virtual activities to put on an event with her is so exciting!
The CCI began after parents began to notice how well Chef Arlena’s own children cook, and started asking her to teach their children as well. Pretty soon she had cooking classes happening without even trying and realized there was a need for this! She wants to help make up for that cut backs of home economics in schools, cut backs that are taking away from essential life skills of cooking, measuring, nutrition, not to mention the social, mental, and emotional aspects involved! Meet her in the video below, then head to her webpage to read more about how children can grow through cooking.
What is included?
For $10 the entire family can join in on a LIVE video. You will receive the December edition of the Multicultural Holidays Subscription, as well as a coloring page to follow along with the story that will be told during the event.
Can it be sent as a gift?
